If estate agents were describing the 67km road between Sligo and Enniskillen, words such as authentic and interesting would be called upon to dress up the bad bends and narrow spaces. They would definitely stress the breathtaking landscape and the unspoilt, uncrowded countryside. A touch of honesty might suggest that this is a largely forgotten area of both North and South, which brings a unique mix of benefits and challenges to local people.
