BoI gets €30m judgment against Smyth
Bank of Ireland has registered a judgment against businessman Liam Smyth and several family members.
Smyth, a retailer and property investor with an address at 8 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, was an active speculator during the boom.
The bank is seeking €25.9 million from Smyth and €13.9 million from his wife, Ita Smyth, according to the debt watchdog Stubbs Gazette.
Five other family members had judgments registered against them by the bank for amounts between €1 million and almost €3 million.
