Banks pump €3.2m into firm behind axed app to rival Revolut

AIB, Bank of Ireland and PTSB have injected fresh funding into Synch Payments as they move to wind up the firm

AIB, Bank of Ireland and Permanent TSB have pumped a fresh €3.2 million into Synch Payments, their mobile payments app project, as they move to wind up the entity.

Synch, set up in 2020, was created by some of Ireland’s leading banks in a bid to develop a rival payments app to Revolut that would be called Yippay.
