The Bank of England is set to face a reckoning, with former US Federal Reserve chair Ben Bernanke to publish a review of its economic forecasting in early April.

Announced last summer amid sustained criticism on the Bank for failing to expect and then tackle high inflation, Bernanke's report could be something of a watershed moment for Threadneedle Street.
