Amazon’s carbon emissions decreased for first time ever in 2022

Firm’s emissions dipped by a modest 0.4 per cent to 71.27 million metric tons over the year

Amazon’s carbon emissions dropped worldwide for the first time ever in 2022, according to the company’s annual sustainability report, as the business continues to grow.

The e-commerce conglomerate said it’s global emissions decreased by 0.4 per cent from 71.54 to 71.27 million metric tons over the year. This follows two years of drastic increases, with emissions soaring by 18 per cent and 15.7 per cent in 2021 and 2020 respectively.
