Over 100 apply for one Circuit Court vacancy

The Judicial Appointments Advisory Board (Jaab) received 112 applications for a single Circuit Court vacancy last year.

The successful candidate, Cormac Quinn, a junior counsel with more than 20 years’ experience, took up the post left vacant by the retirement of Donagh McDonagh.

In total, the Jaab considered 285 applications for six judicial posts, ranging from the District Court to the Court of Appeal.
