No smoke without ire
Spare a thought for the Big Tobacco lobbyists.
Given the government’s zealotry against smoking has transferred to e-cigarettes and vaping, it would be a ripe old time for the smokey influence peddlers to step in and attempt to shape upcoming policy.
But given the government’s revulsion at the prospect of talking to tobacco companies and the WHO rules on letting them into stakeholder processes, the lobbyists have been mainly frozen out.
