It’s a clear sign of the demise of the conventional family car that the current Peugeot 508 is offered in just two trim levels – Allure and GT. Nonetheless, there’s nothing orthodox about this vehicle.

For starters, it’s not a four-door saloon but actually a five-door “fastback” – and a rather fetching one at that. There are dramatic LED lights front and rear, frameless door windows and a dashboard that is entirely unconventional.
