Paula Hannigan’s espresso, chocolate and walnut pound cake

Ingredients; makes one cake

250g butter

250g caster sugar

5 eggs

1 tbsp baking powder

225g plain flour

25g cocoa powder

150g chopped walnuts

For the buttercream

6 egg whites

300g caster sugar

600g unsalted butter

One double espresso or 2 tbsp of good instant coffee dissolved in 50ml water, then chilled

For the ganache

200ml cream

200g good quality dark chocolate
