Even more than in previous years, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will exhale a heartfelt “Thank God it’s over” when the curtain comes down on the 91st Oscars tonight. Despite multiple facelifts, the Oscars is showing its age; it becomes crankier and more sclerotic every year.
