Appetite for distraction
Saying the Hail Mary in Irish is lovely, but how about teaching some adulting skills in school - like money management?
‘They should teach this in schools,” I babble to my accountant on the phone as he once again patiently explains what Vat is and who pays it and why. He gently beseeches me not to keep my money in a Henri Hippo under the bed and whispers the words “preliminary tax”, afraid it might send me into a panic. “Why has nobody prepared me for this?” I fret. “Why did nobody teach me?”
