Accept the things you can change

Self-rating can lead us to very dark places, but if we can learn unconditional self-acceptance at the same time as rating our behaviour, we will put ourselves on the path to mental wellbeing, writes Dr Harry Barry

We are living in a world that has become obsessed with the world of self-esteem and self-rating. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the workplace. Many large multinational companies and indeed some not so large, live and breathe in this world of ‘rating’. Everything is now an algorithm.
