Ian Humphreys has a single-minded attitude to his work, a trait that’s easily discernible from his response to officialdom many years ago when he was asked to occupy an office for the purposes of teaching in art colleges in England. “They told me I had to have a computer and an office, so I stopped teaching and moved to Ireland to paint full-time,” he says.
