The global hospitality industry has faced a bruising few years with many hotels struggling to recover from the double jabs of the pandemic and spiralling operating costs.
But these existential threats failed to land a blow on Jade Mountain, a unique luxury resort on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
“The property has not had a bad year. From the moment we opened, it’s going strong,” Karolin Troubetzkoy, its co-owner, says. “ It's almost recession-proof.”
