Book review: Tim Ryan reveals how Kenny Report could have seen us home dry

Political author’s seminal book on the ignored housing report manages to reveal important details not commonly known

Tim Ryan wants authors to keep at least half of the profit from the sale of their books. Picture: Fergal Phillips.

Tim Ryan has written many pieces of work, but the path he has taken to get his latest book published is rather unconventional. He established his own publishing house.

Ryan, author of many political books, first got involved in publishing in 1992 when he wrote Mara PJ, a book on the role of PJ Mara, former government press secretary, in the rehabilitation of Charles Haughey. He received £3,000 at the time for the publication of two extracts in the Sunday Press. Long gone are those days.
