Tour operator liquidated

The Irish branch of Italiatour, which offered holiday packages to Italy, was placed in voluntary liquidation last week. A spokesman for the Irish Commission for Aviation Regulation said it had drawn down Italiatour's bond, which represented 4 per cent of its annual turnover, so that it can refund customers who are out of pocket. He said the Commission did not yet know how many people had been affected by the closure.
