Theatre: BOSTON MARRIAGE

With Boston Marriage, David Mamet – best known for his overwhelmingly male-oriented work – shifts his gaze to the fairer sex, leaving the contemporary world behind for the 1900s and the cusp of a century of suffrage and women’s lib.

Here, he has also jettisoned the sparse spitfire of his trademark colloquialisms for an excessive and verbose, almost Wildean script.
