The American dream is laid bare in the Big Easy

When it came, it came with all the ferocity of a biblical Armageddon. The walls of the city, which had withstood the siege for generations, finally collapsed, and the enemy hordes poured in.

This weekend, the previously unimaginable sights and sounds that are now what's left of the ‘Big Easy' the city of New Orleans are fixating the United States. Perhaps more significantly in the long run, the Bush presidency has been punctured below the waterline.
