A High Court case against a solicitor could have come straight out of a Charles Dickens novel, the Supreme Court has heard.

The court dismissed the appeal of Michael McMullen against a High Court ruling in February 2012 concerning Dublin solicitor Giles Kennedy.

McMullen claimed that Kennedy had coerced a senior counsel, the late Noel Clancy, to give "unhelpful" evidence in an action brought by McMullen against solicitors who previously acted for him.
