Spot checks reveal risks from old water pipes

EPA surveys show high levels of lead leaking into supply. No exemption from water charges for those affected.

Schools, shops and offices have had their water supply contaminated by lead, according to research compiled by the EPA environmental protection agency.

The Sunday Business Post has seen details of 41 different businesses and homes which were found to have excessive lead levels in their water in 2012, after random inspections by local councils.
