Security services will require a mandatory licence

Under the Private Security Services Act, which was signed into law in May 2004, it is an offence for a company to provide a private security service without a licence.

Penalties include fines of up to €3,000, up to five years’ imprisonment or both. Remember, if you use the services of an unlicensed provider, you may also be prosecuted and face similar penalties.
