Pilot project for staffless' libraries But they insist writing isn't on the wall for librarians

Librarians have insisted that a new pilot project for ''staffless libraries will not put their profession under threat.

From May, self-service technology is being installed in six libraries around the country at a cost of €120,000 to allow the public to check out and return books themselves.
