Ken Early's verdict

Guus Hiddink should be one of the first names on the FAI's list of targets for the job. Hiddink currently combines the job of head coach at Dutch club PSV with managing the Australian international team. It is not certain that Hiddink would be interested in managing Ireland, or in taking a side to the European Championships as opposed to the World Cup.
