Ireland at heart' of new, private Dell

Dell's switch from public to private will put Ireland at the heart of the tech giant's business according to their head in Europe.

Aongus Hegarty, president of Dell EMEA, said the move will give the company more room to invest in research and development in its Irish operations.

''Our expansions [during the takeover] with hires across all three locations showed we were continuing to invest,'' said Hegarty, who is originally from Limerick.
