Attention, lumberjacks: the National Forestry, Woodland and Bio Energy Show is coming to Stradbally Hall, Co Laois on Friday and Saturday.
Tree-huggers, gardeners, conservationists and nature lovers will enjoy traditional timber competitions such as wood-chopping, pole-climbing and something scary called chainsaw racing, plus the Irish National Tree Climbing Championships.
The chainsaw sculpture exhibition by wood artist Bill Blyth sounds particularly inspiring. Admission is €15 (free for kids). Visit ifwshow.ie for details.
