Research from Accenture has found that 90 per cent of junior cycle female students consider biology easier than physics.

The report, which was published last week, found that 68 per cent of parents felt poorly equipped to advise their daughters on science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) subjects.

''Stereotypes still run deep. There's still a perception that some of the STEM subjects are more suited to males, Marian Corcoran, managing director of Accenture Strategy, told Connected.
