Bank's art collection pays off

I had gravitated towards The Quare Bird, John Behan's endearing sculpture of a demented hen in the middle of the Crawford's Lower Gallery. But le Brocquy was having none of it - his magnificent wool tapestry, Allegory, demanded my attention. Those familiar figures of his look so perfectly at home in what was a foreign medium to the artist when Allegory was completed in 1950.
