When Nicola Hansen moved to Ireland from South Africa in 2003, it took a while for potential Irish employers to recognise her South African teaching qualifications. To make ends meet while she hunted for a job, she began offering a home tutoring service for children with autism.

Demand for the tutoring service continued to grow and eventually she left her teaching job and tutored on a full-time basis.
