On 4 November in Switzerland the greats of the watch world ensemble for The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in what is widely regarded as the Oscars of the watch world. This year there are 84 timepieces across 14 categories – all are eligible for the Grand Prix ‘Aiguille d’Or’ (Golden Needle) – effectively the Best Picture award.
