Visitors to Los Angeles may flock to its beaches, shopping destinations such as Rodeo Drive or the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where the only stars you’re likely to see are plaques in the sidewalk.

But downtown LA is where a lot of the city’s real buzz can be found. We asked Jessica Lall, a managing director at global real estate service firm CBRE Group Inc. who focuses on downtown, what it’s like to work in and visit the neighbourhood.
