Jane Ruffino: The problems of Bitcoin are political, not technical

A t the time of writing, there have been 90 obituary articles written for Bitcoin, a decentralised digital currency created in 2009 that was supposed to revolutionise payments across boundaries and borders. The first, a post called “Why Bitcoin can’t be a currency”, on a blog called The Underground Economist, was written in 2010, when one Bitcoin was worth $0.23.
