Can you describe your daily work routine?

I start the day listening to the news and reviewing media scans, consider emails and written correspondence for response or delegation. I have a range of strategic and operational performance meetings and external meetings with customers /stakeholders throughout the day. I frequently attend meetings with our government departments.

What is your professional background?

I work in the Northern Ireland Housing Executive as Director of Regional Services and previously Director of Design and Property Services. Prior to working in housing I worked in Tourism Development as Product Development Director with responsibility for public funding of the Titanic and Causeway Visitor facility and other smaller tourism capital builds. Other roles have included economic development with Craigavon Borough Council, business development with InterTradeIreland, management within a social enterprise and consultancy in North America.

Tell me about yourself away from work?

I am an enthusiastic and outgoing person who likes sports, enjoys travel, the cultural buzz of Belfast and all it has to offer, spending time with family and friends.

You are speaking at the forthcoming National Property Summit in Dublin. What is the focus of your talk?

To provide an overview of the evidence on the current structure of Northern Ireland’s current Housing Market and an analysis and update on the commercial property market.

What immediate changes are necessary to resolve the worst effects of the housing crisis?

To have a functioning assembly, who prioritise housing across government, and the

ability to source land and build new houses.

What changes do you envisage for the property sector over the next five years?

Housing choice to reflect changing demographics, a range of affordable options, and planned place shaping which integrates communities with innovatively designed homes.
