The most valuable advice available to first-time exporters will often come from other companies who are already selling in their target territory, according to Kieran Comerford, chair of the Network of Local Enterprise Offices.

“They’ve been there and done that. Enlist their knowledge and experience through networking, or take advantage of government-supported programmes through your Local Enterprise Office,” he said.
