Galway’s City Museum is to expand to include a major new interactive visitor attraction as well as new gallery and temporary exhibition spaces.

The initiative was made possible by an application from Galway City Council to Fáilte Ireland for €6 million in funding to develop a new Cultural Tourism District, centred around the City Museum and Spanish Arch.
