Europe ahead of US in fintech law, says Stripe boss
Patrick Collison cites example of e-money rules and open banking/PSD2 legislation in helping to foster innovation in Europe
Europe is racing ahead of the US in creating a regulatory environment in which fintechs can thrive, according to Patrick Collison, co-founder and chief executive of online payments company Stripe.
Speaking at a recent fintech-focused event in Washington DC, Collison cited the example of the introduction of open banking regulations and the European Union’s e-money rules in helping companies to develop more solutions.
