Report: Women still ‘locked out’ of boardrooms

Awareness of the importance of gender diversity on boards in Ireland has improved in recent years, a new report has found, but women have become more reluctant to put themselves forward for board positions.

The report, Women on Boards in Ireland 2015, released last week by the Institute of Directors in Ireland, found that women continued to encounter barriers in reaching the boardroom because of male-dominated boards and a lack of contacts.
