Zdeněk Turek has come a long way from guarding the Czechoslovakian border in the late 1980s. A snowy border post is a far cry from the corner office in Citibank’s docklands building, from which he runs a sprawling banking giant that spans 21 countries, employs almost 4,000 people, with more than €23.4 billion in assets.
