Ryanair has a tried and trusted approach to dealing with crisis: it announces a seat sale.

Last Wednesday morning, as the newspapers were full of the likely impact of the one-day strike called by Irish pilots for next Thursday, Ryanair customers got an email, under the banner “This is not fake news”.
