Mainstream turns attention to 'growth markets'

The renewable energy company is tweaking its strategy and expects to retain ownership of the projects it builds, rather than selling them to investors as it has previously done

Mainstream Renewables, the energy company founded by Eddie O'Connor, is planning to channel €1 billion into a three-year expansion plan.

This would build out nearly 2 gigawatts of wind and solar projects across three continents, according to the Dublin-based developer. The company is tweaking its strategy and expects to retain ownership of the projects it builds, rather than selling them to investors as it has previously done.
