Limerick medtech start-up launches funding campaign

The Limerick start-up Ostoform is raising seed funding of €1.5 million ahead of plans to bring to market a new medical device to help protect against the peristomal skin complications that can sometimes arise following ileostomies.

Performed on people suffering from inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, these surgeries involve the creation of an opening or stoma for the elimination of body waste.
