An Irish executive has been picked to run one of General Electric (GE)’s key divisions as part of the management overhaul of the US company last week.

Kieran Murphy will become president and chief executive of GE Healthcare, which brings in nearly $20 billion (€18 billion) a year in revenue and employs 55,000 people around the world. Chicago-based GE Health supplies hospitals with vital medical equipment, including baby incubators and MRI scanners.
