Ireland has dropped three places in the 2017 Global Innovation Index published this morning, with Switzerland and Sweden retaining the top two places.

The index is compiled by Cornell University, INSEAD and the World Intellectual Property Organization. Ireland moved up to seventh place last year, but has now dropped back to tenth, having been overtaken by the Netherlands and Denmark. The Netherlands is now ranked third, with the US fourth and UK fifth.
