Retail group Gala has signed a deal worth €175,000 to become the official sponsor of Team Ireland at the Special Olympics this year.

The deal includes sponsorship rights and an activation budget.

The money will be used to help the 88 Irish athletes travel to and compete in the games, which take place in Los Angeles in July.
