All-Ireland quarter-finals to go under director general's proposal
GAA director general Páraic Duffy has announced plans to shake up theAll-Ireland senior football championship. The plan is aimed at condensing the calendar of inter-county games in order to give club championships "more room to breathe".
The plan will add eight extra matches to the provincial and All-Ireland senior football championship programme, but the overall inter-county programme will increase by only six as the Allianz League semi-finals are to be abolished.
