Greencore chief executive Patrick Coveney has said the food company won’t be bounced into making acquisitions following its exit from the United States.

Coveney said the company intended to spend time assessing the best way to deploy its resources in its existing business in Britain once it returned most of the proceeds from the $1 billion (€876 million) sale of its American business to shareholders.
