Enterprise Ireland’s pensions liability has jumped by almost 25 per cent in the space of a year because of falling bond yields.
The state agency’s annual report revealed that its obligations to its pensioners hit €413 million at the end of 2016, up from €325 million in the previous year. Most of the increase, €74 million, was due to changes in assumptions around the value of its future retirement liabilities.
