Central Bank set to examine tracker cases

Watchdog is to investigate whether mortgage holders were overcharged

Central Bank chiefs will meet with mortgage experts in the coming weeks

The Central Bank looks set to meet with mortgage experts in the coming weeks to discuss ongoing concerns over tracker mortgage overcharging across the mortgage industry.

The regulator is poised to examine a number of tracker mortgage cases presented to it by debtor advocates.

Earlier this month, the Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation (IMHO) gave the Central Bank details of a number of AIB tracker mortgage cases where it believed the borrower was overcharged.
