Bord na Móna sells 50 per cent stake in smart grid firm Viotas
The semi-state company will make a significant return on investment after buying into the Limerick-based smart grid firm in 2016
Bord na Móna has sold its 50 per cent stake in Viotas, the Limerick-based smart grid firm.
The company, founded in 2013 by Paddy Finn and Duncan O’Toole, aggregates demand response contracts for large energy users.
Viotas’ founders partnered with Goodbody to execute a management buyout of the semi-state company’s 50 per cent stake in the business. The deal also involves the provision of growth capital to support Viotas’s international expansion plans.
