AIB wants tax breaks for small landlords to kickstart new builds

Taxpayer-controlled AIB is seeking an extension of the government’s help-to-buy grant as well as tax breaks for landlords in an effort to kickstart housebuilding.

The bank has urged the government to announce that help-to-buy, due to finish in October, will be extended further in a bid to make sure homes remain affordable for those looking to get on the property ladder.
