The ninth edition of the Kevin Barry-led literary anthology for the arts, Winter Papers, is a sumptuously produced affair. It’s a cloth-covered, thread-sewn hardback that harks back to a world when books were things of beauty that were built to be collected and displayed on library shelves, rather than mass-produced paperbacks to end up in charity shop cellars.
